Conference dinner

The conference dinner takes place at the Clubrestaurant of the ”Verein Seglerhaus am Wannsee.” Note: Due to limited space we cannot guarantee a spot for all participants. All participants with a spot reserved should have received a confirmation email.

Getting there from the conference venue via public transport (link opens in Google maps).

Take the S-Bahn or regional train from Zoologischer Garten to Wannsee, then bus no. 114, direction ”Heckeshorn”, until stop ”Koblanckstr”. Consider gathering as a group at the conference venue or the hotel  and go together (those who want to join).

Berlin: Local Information

Some information to assist your arrival, help you get around, and make your stay in Berlin even more enjoyable!

How to get to TU Berlin: the nearest stations are Ernst-Reuter-Platz (U-Bahn) and Tiergarten (S-Bahn).

Arriving by plane: the central airport of Berlin is Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER, also known as Willy Brandt) (Google maps). It is well connected to the city by public transport (4,70 €) or Taxi (~60 €).

Arriving by train: the main train station in Berlin is Berlin Central Station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof) (Google maps). It is 1 station by S-Bahn from Tiergarten.

Public Transportation: BVG

BVG is the public transportation company in Berlin. There are U-Bahn, S-Bahn (both local trains), busses, trams, and ferry network. You can get tickets at stations and in busses. Also, you can get a ticket via their app (App Store: BVG tickets, Google play: BVG tickets). You will usually need a AB-ticket (3,80 €), except when going to/from Berlin Airport or to/from Postdam when you will need an ABC-ticket (4,70 €). There are various options (4 trip ticket, 24h ticket, 7-day ticket, and such) available see BVG tickets.

How to get around by bike

Berlin has many bike lanes. TU-Berlin is located next to Tiergarten, which is a large park in the center of Berlin. There are many different options of renting a bike, see here and here. You can take your bike on local trains (U-Bahn and S-Bahn), but you need an extra ticket for this (2.50 €).
