Community Compost Locations

Christ Church Toxteth Park, Linnet Lane

We are please to have a compost located in the grounds of this gold award eco-church. We are piloting a larger compost model on this site.

The site is funded through St Michael’s ward councillors.

The compost membership is currently full. If you are a St Michael’s ward resident, and would like to use this compost, get in touch and we will add you to the waiting list. We will contact you when a space becomes available.

 

Colebrooke Road

This community compost is located in the Colebrooke Road recreational park in south Liverpool.

The site is funded through St Michael’s ward councillors.

Greenbank Park

This picturesque south Liverpool park is a lovely location for a community compost.

The site was set up thanks to funds through Greenbank ward councillor Lawrence Brown, Eleanor Rathbone Charitable Trust, Purple Carrot, and local residents and other individuals who contributed to our crowdfunder. The ongoing management is funded by Councillor Lawrence Brown.

Ford Lane Community Garden

This community compost is located in Litherland, and was set up as part of our Compost is the Future project, funded by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

The compost, in a lovely setting by the bank of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, is now maintained by the community garden volunteers. For more information, email fordlanegarden21@gmail.com.

 

Make Hamilton

This site was commissioned by Make CIC as part of the development of their Hamilton location in Birkenhead. The community compost is used by Make Hamilton tenants and local residents. 

 

Make North Docks

This site was commissioned by Make CIC as part of the organisation’s commitment to sustainability. The community compost is used by the tenants at Make North Docks and some local residents.

 

Netherton Community Garden

We set up this community compost as part of our Compost is the Future project, that was funded by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. The compost is maintained by the community garden volunteers. For more information, contact The Feelgood Factory on 0151 291 8010.

 

Norris Green Park

This community compost is located in the community garden in Norris Green Park. It was part of our Compost is the Future project, that was funded by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. The compost is now run by Friends of Norris Green Park who are developing  the community garden into a beautiful resource for local residents. 

 

North Park, Bootle

This community compost was set up as part of the Growing Circle project run by Growing Root in Bootle, that aims to encourage local residents to grow edible plants in their front yards and compost their food waste.

Roots in the City Garden

This community compost is located in the Roots in the City community garden at St Michael in the City in Liverpool City Centre. It was part of our Compost is the Future project, that was funded by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

South Park, Bootle

From North to South, this is the second of our community composts in partnership with Growing Root in Bootle, part of their Growing Circle project.

Springfield Park

Our latest site, set up in the lovely Springfield Park, right next to the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The site is waiting to be launched but will be available for local residents to use for their household food waste composting. 

This site has been funded by Friends of Springfield Park who run several activities in the park for the enjoyment of local residents.

St Michael’s Station

Walton Hall Park

This community compost is in the community garden in Walton Hall that is run by the Friends of Walton Hall Park.  It was part of our Compost is the Future project, that was funded by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.
